Why invest in Asia equity long/short now?

Investing in Asia has changed fundamentally in recent years. A strategy based on the long-term growth of the Chinese economy no longer works. Things have become more complicated economically and politically. This new environment could be a good time for a different kind of strategy, like event-driven investing with a long/short (L/S) equity strategy. We spoke to Jon Withaar, Head of Asia Special Situations at Pictet Asset Management. He is making the case for a L/S strategy in Asia.
