Tencent expands in Southeast Asia

Tencent is opening a new office in Singapore that should serve as hub for Southeast Asia. After setbacks in the US and India, the Chinese tech giant is planning to deepen its exposure to fast-growing SEA market that is home to about 650 million people. Tencent  already has offices in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.

India has banned over 100 Chinese apps, including Tencent’s messaging app WeChat, after boarder hostilities with China. In the US, WeChat was just banned from American app stores.
