Coronavirus in India encourages crime

The COVID-19 pandemic has dealt a severe blow to the Indian economy. Due to the alarming increase in unemployment, many people are resorting to criminal activities to make ends meet. In addition to robberies and theft, the authorities also report an increase in cybercrime since the beginning of the pandemic.

India has recorded almost one million coronavirus cases and almost 25,000 related deaths to date.
