Facebook invests in Gojek

Facebook has invested in Gojek, the successful Southeast Asian ride-hailing start-up from Indonesia. Gojek told TechCrunch that Facebook – and also PayPal – are participating in the current Series F financing round, which has raised over $3 billion to date.

Indonesia is one of the largest Asian markets for Facebook. This investment paves the way for Facebook to expand its digital payment and financial services into Indonesia and, more broadly, the Southeast Asian market.
