    How Huawei can circumvent the US ban

    The U.S. ban on selling chips to Huawei Technologies when American equipment or software is involved will further undermine the already weakened position of the U.S. in the global semiconductor equipment market. According to industry experts, chip manufacturers will simply no longer rely on American components to maintain their market share in China, the world’s largest buyer of semiconductors.

    Samsung, the world’s second largest manufacturer of memory and logic chips, has already set up a small production line for 7-nanometer chips using only Japanese and European chip manufacturing equipment, according to the Electrical Engineering Times.
