A shift towards decarbonization and dual supply chains, inflation and the rising cost of capital have turned investor attention towards corporate profits and cashflows. Eastspring Investments in its report ‘Value investing in Asia: A multi-year opportunity’ says that such a shift is supportive of value investing in Asia ex-Japan, with value equities seeing a strong rebound since November 2020, outperforming the regional index by 15%.
Eastspring says there are ample mispriced stock opportunities for bottom-up value investors in Asia. The asset manager says valuation dispersion is large in the region despite the recent value outperformance versus growth.
